ABOUT ED

As a proud immigrant parent of three first generation children, I know how important inclusive, equitable and diverse spaces are. I have the honour to love queer and Indigenous family members, which has given me the motivation to deepen my own learning. It is of the utmost importance to me to continue championing community learning, so we can all have a place and space we feel we belong.

Within the community space, I have volunteered as a youth basketball coach and mentor for aspiring coaches. I have built trusting and healthy relationships with young adults, as they build their confidence as leaders. I have dedicated my time to fostering their growth on and off the court.

With many years of business, engineering and professional engagement, I can share my entrepreneurial and governance experience to support and execute strategic plans for our Board. I can help build collaborative partnerships with diverse groups, helping to advance our educational community. I can also provide financial experience to the Board’s fiscal planning and budgeting process.

My business networks extend beyond a single school board. I have collaborated with various school boards bringing Student Success Initiatives to fruition by providing experiential learning opportunities to students, like Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) career presentations, and cooperative education (co-op) placements.

As an education enthusiast, I am passionate about learning, especially from meaningful interactions with students, teachers and fellow parents. I am grateful for each lesson I have learned and take every opportunity to share my stories and knowledge. My enthusiasm for enhancing and advancing education will be evident in my past and future involvement!
